Hooray! Eagan, Minnesota is celebrating its 150th Birthday. Thanks for making Eagan such a wonderful city. We've come a long way with new neighborhoods, beautiful parks, reputable schools, growing businesses, new city facilities and so much more worth celebrating!
Eagan is Minnesota's 8th largest City and ranked nationally as one of the best places to live. In fact, Eagan was ranked #15 "Best Places to Live" in the USA according to CNNMoney.com.
Taste of Eagan Celebration
To wrap up Eagan's exciting 150th Anniversary Celebration, we're having a "Taste of Eagan" event on October 14th at the Eagan Community Center. Enjoy a variety of food and entertainment during this great community get-together. More information is coming soon, including vendor and ticket updates.
Record National Night Out
Cash and food donations equal to nearly 36,000 pounds of food were donated by Eagan residents at a record number of National Night Out parties, August 3. 176 neighborhoods participated in getting to know their neighbors and heightening their crime prevention awareness. 150 neighborhoods received visits from Eagan Police and Fire Department personnel, along with Minnesota National Guard members and the Dakota County Mounted Patrol. Weekly Historical Fact
The first school taught in Eagan convened in the winter of 1859-60 in a small 14 x 16 foot log house owned by Thomas Farman in section 14. Nearly 14 children attended, which was unusually large for a new district.
